No one wants to join IT industry

Today, I am in a thought-provoking mood. So, i will leave you with a thought.

How many IT pros in India went on to pursue IT as a career because they really had a liking towards it? Or was it more because IT was the easiest choice and there was nothing else to bank on for a living?

And if you yourself are Indian IT pro, do you actually want to continue with your career in IT? Or would you rather quit IT if given an option?

I will leave it here then. Just think. And also think, why i asked you to think on these lines-- and you will have the answers?

You do fall in love after a point too. It is the power of communication and Internet. But yes, more options are opening up that will attract the best talent. Thats a good thing. People can move on innovation that serves them and addresses their problems instead of somebody else's.

India doesnt have a shortage of talent pool but what it lacks is systems. Because there is no support from state (or negative support) and old social structures are crumbling, people have been pretty much on their own. No social security, insurance etc.
That forced them to be creative - not in the way we think of innovation (hi tech companies, products etc.) The systems are slowly falling in place. Wait for a few years.

Yes, my friend. I will agree with you on that - forced creativity is the way of life for Indians. And thanks for visiting and sharing your thoughts on my blog.
